Abstract In 1648, an uprising broke out in Ukraine that belonged to Poland at the time. The war was not successful for the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. The Cossacks and Tartars, who were helping them during the war, surrounded Zbaraż, about whose defense everyone knew in the country. King Jan Kazimierz decided to set out to rescue the besieged fortress. It was decided that not only Polish troops, but also soldiers of Lithuania would set out for Ukraine. The United Nations is the most productive international organization in resolving international world conflicts. The UN uses different techniques and approaches to resolve international conflicts, including mediation. This study analyzes the process of mediation and international conflict management from the point of view of UN efforts in the Western Sahara conflict, which has been ongoing since 1975. Publikacijoje analizuojamas Latvijos požiūris į lietuvių ir lenkų santykius 1920 m. įvykių metu. 1920 m. rugsėjį latvių politikai turėjo ketinimų pagerinti Baltijos regiono šalių santykius su Sovietų Rusija, tačiau generolo L. Želigovskio kariniai veiksmai Vilniaus krašte palaidojo bet kokias viltis. Latvijos vyriausybė lietuviams ir lenkams siūlė susitikti deryboms Rygoje, bet lenkai atsisakė. Buvo spėjama, kad L Želigovskis palaiko ryšius su Varšuva. Latviai labai norėjo išvengti bet kokio konflikto su lenkais ir įvairiomis priemonėmis bei būdais to siekė.
